Intentional Parenting & Motherhood

June 27, 20253 min read

Hey sweet mama,

I don’t know about you, but there are days when I feel like I’m just trying to survive motherhood. Keeping everyone fed, the house semi-clean, and desperately trying to squeeze in a moment of peace. I’ve had those mornings where the coffee goes cold before I even take a sip, and evenings where I wonder if I was really present with my kids, or just busy being “mom.”

But somewhere along the way, God started nudging my heart:
“What would it look like to parent on purpose?”

That’s where this journey of intentional parenting and motherhood began for me. Not from a desire to be perfect, but from a desire to slow down and show up in a deeper way.

Motherhood isn’t just about making sure the laundry is folded, dinner is on the table, and kids are dropped off on time. It’s about the moments in between—the ones where you stop, look your child in the eyes, and truly listen. It’s where legacy is built, not by default, but by intention.

We live in a world that glorifies hustle. But as moms, we know that faster isn’t always better. Sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is slow down and be present, not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually, too.

What Is Intentional Parenting?

Intentional parenting means choosing to parent on purpose. It’s not about being perfect. It’s about showing up with your heart open, your mind clear, and your priorities straight. It’s saying:

  • “No” to distractions that steal your attention

  • “Yes” to conversations that build trust

  • And most importantly, “Yes” to the calling God has placed on your life as a mother

It’s about parenting with the end in mind, not just reacting to what each day throws at you.

Why It Matters

The truth is, our kids won’t remember every packed lunch or perfectly styled holiday photo. But they will remember how we made them feel. Did we make time for their questions? Did we laugh together? Did we model faith, patience, and love?

Motherhood is the ultimate leadership role and it’s sacred.

Balancing Purpose & Presence

I know how hard it is to juggle it all. Raising children, building a business, staying connected to your faith. But here’s the truth: you don’t have to choose between building your future and being present with your kids.

I’ve learned that intentional motherhood and financial freedom can walk hand-in-hand when guided by faith. Whether it’s creating passive income, saying no to burnout, or rethinking what “success” looks like, this journey can align with your values.

Ways to Practice Intentional Parenting

Here are a few small ways you can begin:

  • Start your day in prayer, asking God to help you parent with love and wisdom.

  • Put your phone away during key connection times—like dinner or bedtime.

  • Speak life over your children with affirmations and Scripture.

  • Check in with your kids emotionally, not just logistically.

  • Create routines that build peace, not pressure.

Final Thoughts

You don’t need to do more to be a good mom. You need to be more present. You were chosen for your children, and they were chosen for you. That’s no accident.

Let’s parent on purpose.
Let’s mother with mission.
Let’s live with intention and leave a legacy of love, faith, and freedom.
